We are currently running the Spring bus schedules through Friday, May 23, 2008. We offer service in and around Jackson Hole including several daily trips from downtown Jackson to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at Teton Village.

News: START Continues to Break Records and Plans for the Future

Welcome to the Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit, which we like to call, The START Bus. We work hard to offer a safe, convenient and affordable transportation system for residents and visitors to Teton County. We provide service from Jackson to and from Teton Village, Teton Valley and Star Valley, as well as a free shuttle around the Town of Jackson.

The START system is funded partially by the Town of Jackson, Teton County, and the Federal Government. It has been in operation since 1987, and was first implemented to be the skier's transportation from the town to Teton Village.

I Don't Ride the START Bus, How Is It a Benefit To Me?

Even if you don't ride START, you are reaping these rewards:

• Everyday, current START usage takes more cars off the road. Many of our riders have a driver's license and a vehicle but chose to ride the bus because it is more convenient for them - if that person had decided to drive today he or she could have been the vehicle in front of you.
• Fewer cars on the road means less pollution. START helps keep the air we breathe cleaner and the scenic views breathtaking.  
• Many of the people you depend on use START (winter & summer resort staff, retail clerks, medical personnel, coworkers and more.)
• Transit improves access to jobs, allowing you to quickly get your order at the drive-through or your favorite restaurant or pay for your merchandise at your favorite shop because the employer was able to fill the vacant position. MORE
